Anti-Perilipin 1 Antibody (Cat. 4854)
$ 429.00 | 100 µL
Lipid droplets are protein-coated structures that regulate growth and metabolism. In adipocytes, perilipin is the key associated protein. Mice lacking perilipin exhibit a lean phenotype due to reduced fat accumulation, suggesting that perilipin functions as a gatekeeper, shielding triglycerides from lipase-mediated metabolism.
- Target: Full-length perilipin 1 (PLIN1a)
- Reactivity: Human, mouse (verified)
- Applications: ICC/IF, WB
- Dilutions: ICC/IF 1:300 | WB 1:5000
- Immunogen: Synthetic peptide near serine 497 of human perilipin 1 (not phosphorylation-specific)

Human subcutaneous adipocytes stained for nuclei (blue), lipid droplets (green), and perilipin (red) using Vala Sciences’ lipid droplet staining kit (#4805) and mouse monoclonal antibody to perilipin (# 4854).
Anti-P-Perilipin 1-Serine 497 Antibody (Cat. 4855)
$ 549.00 | 100 µL
Lipid droplets are protein-coated structures that regulate growth and metabolism. Perilipin, the key adipocyte-associated protein, acts as a gatekeeper, protecting triglycerides from lipase-mediated metabolism. Perilipin knockout mice exhibit reduced fat accumulation. Upon lipolysis activation, PKA phosphorylates perilipin at Ser497 and Ser522, facilitating HSL recruitment to lipid droplets.
- Target: Phospho-Ser497 (human), Phospho-Ser492 (mouse)
- Reactivity: Human, mouse (verified)
- Applications: ICC/IF
- Dilutions: ICC/IF (1:100)
- Immunogen: Synthetic peptide near Ser497 of human perilipin 1

Human subcutaneous adipocytes were incubated without (control, left) or with (right) the PKA activator forskolin. Cells were stained for nuclei (blue), lipid droplets (green), and phospho-perilipin (Ser497) (red) using Vala Sciences’ Lipid Droplet Staining Kit (#4805) and mouse monoclonal phospho-perilipin (Ser497) antibody (#4855).
Anti-P-Perilipin 1-Serine 522 Antibody (Cat. 4856)
$ 549.00 | 100 µL
Lipid droplets are protein-coated structures that regulate growth and metabolism. Perilipin, the key adipocyte-associated protein, acts as a gatekeeper, protecting triglycerides from lipase-mediated metabolism. Perilipin knockout mice exhibit reduced fat accumulation. Upon lipolysis activation, PKA phosphorylates perilipin at Ser497 and Ser522, facilitating HSL recruitment to lipid droplets.
- Target: Phospho-Ser522 (human), Phospho-Ser517 (mouse)
- Reactivity: Human, mouse (verified)
- Applications: ICC/IF, WB
- Dilutions: ICC/IF 1:30 | WB 1:5000
- Immunogen: Synthetic peptide near Ser522 of human perilipin 1

Human subcutaneous adipocytes were incubated in the presence and absence of the lipolytic activator Lys-3γ-MSH prior to being stained for nuclei (blue), lipid droplets (green), and phospho-perilipin (Ser 522) (red) using Vala Sciences’ lipid droplet staining kit (#4805) and mouse monoclonal antibody to phospho-perilipin (Ser 522) (# 4856).

Lipid Droplet Screen-Certified Kit (Cat. 4805)
$ 329.00
Lipid droplets are the primary fat storage organelles of fat cells (adipocytes). Lipid droplet size, and number are altered by anti-diabetic and anti-obesity drugs and these effects can be quantified utilizing Vala Science Inc’s Lipid Droplet Kit. The kit can be utilized to quantify lipid droplets in human primary adipocytes, murine 3T3L1 adipocytes, as well as primary or immortalized hepatocytes.
